Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN GUWAHATI – TRANSFER TO SHILLONG (APPROX. 100 KM / 3 HRS)
- Pick up from Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
- Meet your driver and proceed to Shillong, “The Scotland of the East.”
- En route, stop at the Umiam Lake (Barapani) – enjoy boating or simply admire the view.
- Check into your hotel in Shillong.
- In the evening, stroll through Police Bazaar, Shillong’s main shopping and food hub.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
DAY 2: SHILLONG LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
- After breakfast, start your local sightseeing tour of Shillong:
- Shillong Peak (for panoramic views of the city)
- Elephant Falls – beautiful three-step waterfall
- Ward’s Lake – serene lake in the city center
- Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians
- Don Bosco Museum – a unique museum showcasing the culture of Northeast India
- Return to hotel in the evening.

DAY 3: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJI (APPROX. 60 KM / 2 HRS)
- After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth.
- Visit:
- Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall
- Mawsmai Cave – explore fascinating limestone formations
- Seven Sisters Falls (Nohsngithiang Falls)
- Eco Park – scenic valley views
- Optional: Visit Arwah Cave (if time permits) for a short cave walk.
- Check into your hotel in Cherrapunji.
Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
DAY 4: CHERRAPUNJI – DAWKI – MAWLYNNONG – SHILLONG
- After early breakfast, drive to Dawki (Indo–Bangladesh border):
- Enjoy boating on the Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear water.
- Visit India–Bangladesh border point.
- Continue to Mawlynnong Village - Asia’s Cleanest Village
- Visit the Living Root Bridge at Riwai village.
- Explore the Sky Viewpoint for panoramic views of Bangladesh plains.
- Later, drive back to Shillong.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
DAY 5: SHILLONG – GUWAHATI DEPARTURE
- After breakfast, check out and drive to Guwahati.
- If time permits, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hill.
- Drop at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
