The best time to visit Kaziranga and Meghalaya is from October to April. During this season, the weather is pleasant. The sky is clear. And Kaziranga remains open for safaris. Avoid visiting between June and September, as Kaziranga closes during the monsoon and heavy rains can affect travel plans in Meghalaya.

DAY 01: GUWAHATI AIRPORT / RLY STATION – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (220 KMS / 5 HRS.)

Pick up on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
Later proceed to Kaziranga National Park – Famous for “One Horned Rhinoceros”.
Enroute visit Maha Mrityunjay Temple.
On arrival at Kaziranga Hotel Resort. Check in at your hotel/ Resort.
Evening is free for leisure.

Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

DAY 02: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK VISIT

Early in morning get ready for elephant safari of Kaziranga National Park.
See Rhino, Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants.
Can see tiger also (Depending on time to visit).
Also get to see pelicans, storks and darters on water bodies inside the Kaziranga National Park.
After that return to the resort for breakfast.
In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari in the National Park.
Also visit Kaziranga Orchid Park.
Return to the hotel/ Resort.

DAY 03: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – SHILLONG (295 KMS / 7 HRS.)

After breakfast proceed for Shillong of Meghalaya.
Enroute visit Umium Lake, a beautiful lake in surrounding of sylvan hills.
On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel.
Evening is free for local market visit.

DAY 04: EXCURSION TO CHERRAPUNJEE (60 KMS / 2-3 HRS ONE WAY)

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee.
Visit the beautiful waterfall Nohkalikai.
Also visit caves known as Mawsmai.
Evening return to Shillong.
Enroute visit Elephanta.

DAY 05: SIGHTSEEN OF DAWKI & MAWLYNNONG (120 KMS / 4-5 HRS ONE WAY)

After early breakfast drive to Dawki. Famous for clean water river.
Enjoy breathtaking view of the Umangot River.
Later visit to Asia cleanest village Mawlynnong.
In Mawlynnong visit living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock.
Evening drive back to Shillong.

DAY 06: SHILLONG LOCAL SIGHTSEEING – GUWAHATI (105 KMS / 3 HRS.)

After breakfast visit Ward’s Lake.
Also visit Don Bosco Museum (Monday to Saturday only).
After that drive to Guwahati.
On arrive at Guwahati hotel and check in at hotel.
In evening can see Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra. Or Can visit Khamakhya temple.
