Best Time to Visit Gangotri and Badrinath Temple
The Gangotri and Badrinath temples are open from April May to Oct November only. It remains closed from November to mid AprilDue to the harsh winter season. The best time to visit Gangotri and Badrinath is End of April May June September October November.
Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1: HARIDWAR / DEHRADUN / RISHIKESH TO HARSIL
Pick up and transfer to Harsil.
- Enroute visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Uttarkashi, Shakti Temple.
- Visit Gangnani hot water kund.
Overnight stay at beautiful scenic Harsil Valley.
DAY 2: HARSIL TO GANGOTRI TEMPLE TO UTTARKASHI (120 KM DRIVE)
Early morning after breakfast, proceed to Gangotri.
- On arrival, do darshan of Ganga Mata at Gangotri Temple.
- Take bath in holy river.
- Visit Surya Kund and Jalmagna Shivlinga.
- Later proceed to Uttarkashi.
Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
DAY 3: UTTARKASHI TO CHAMOLI (180 KM DRIVE)
Morning after breakfast, proceed to Chamoli.
- Visit Rudraprayag, Karna Prayag, Nand Prayag of five Prayag on the way to Chamoli.
- Check into hotel in Chamoli for night stay.
Overnight stay at Chamoli.
DAY 4: CHAMOLI TO BADRINATH (100 KM DRIVE)
Proceed to Badrinath after breakfast.
- On the way, visit Narsingh Temple Joshimath, Divya Desam, Vishnu Prayag.
- On arrival, check into hotel.
- Later proceed to Badrinath Temple darshan.
- Take dip in holy Tapt Kund.
- Take darshan of Lord Badrinath and Laxmi Mata along with Hanuman.
Overnight stay at Badrinath.
DAY 5: BADRINATH TO RUDRAPRAYAG / SRINAGAR (170 KM DRIVE)
After breakfast, proceed to Mana Village.
- Visit Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhim Pul, Origin of Saraswati River.
- Later proceed to Rudraprayag/Srinagar.
- On the way, visit Yog Dhyan Badri and Devi Temple.
Overnight stay at Rudraprayag/Srinagar.
DAY 6: RUDRAPRAYAG / SRINAGAR TO HARIDWAR / RISHIKESH / DEHRADUN DROP OFF
After breakfast, proceed for drop off for onward journey.
- On the way, visit Dev Prayag and Raghunath Temple (Divya Desam).
- Visit Rishikesh and drop off at railway station or airport.
