Gauri shankar temple

The 800-year-old Gauri Shankar Temple is renowned for its architecture amongst the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the most popular places to visit in Manali.Constructed in the typical Shikhara style, it is finely carved from stone. Nine stages of carvings, motifs, a Shiva lingam, and a Nandi statue can be seen inside. The local legend goes that this temple has been excavated from earth as it is. What is fascinating to see is that there is no temple roof of this protected site and one can see the statues in the clear view of the sky.
