Baijnath temple

Famous Baijnath temple of Uttrakhand is less than 20 km from Kausani. Baijnath temple complex that dates back to the 12th century and is found on the banks of the river Gomti. The place holds veri old and sacred religious and historical significance therein, consistent with Hindu mythology, God Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga.

The temple complex was built by the Katyuri kings and therefore the temples are constructed in stone. Outside the temple complex may be a lake filled with fish and it’s a ritual for pilgrims to supply food within the sort of ‘channa’ after they visit the temple.
