Maharashtra Shaktipeeth Tour

About this trip

Maharashtra Shaktipeeth tour is tour of three Shaktipeeth temples of Maharashtra. These three Shaktipeeth are Tulja Bhawani, Shri Mahalakshmi (Kolhapur), and the sacred abode of Vitthal-Rukmini in Pandharpur. This tour combines the powerful divine energy of the two major Shakti Peethas with the sublime. This is 3 Day tour of Shakti, Prosperity, and Bhakti. Tulja Bhawani and Shri Mahalakshmi Saktipeeth are two of the Shakti Peethas of Maharashtra. It is temple where a part of Goddess Sati’s body is believed to have fallen. Similarly Vaishnava Bhakti is Vitthal-Rukmini Temple in Pandharpur.

The Maharashtra Shaktipeeth tour is a holistic journey for a devotee, covering the supreme Goddess as the source of power (Shakti) and prosperity (Mahalakshmi), and the ultimate form of loving devotion and grace (Vitthal).

Three Maharashtra Shaktipeeth

Tulja Bhawani Temple: — Tulja Bhawani is revered as one of the most powerful and significant 3 Shakti Peethas in Maharashtra. She is the embodiment of the fierce form of Goddess Durga and is the Kuldevi of the great Maratha King, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Shri Mahalakshmi (Ambabai) Temple, Kolhapur: — It is Goddess of Wealth. The Shri Mahalakshmi Temple is also known as Ambabai Temple. Also, it is the second major Shakti Peetha on this tour. The Goddess Mahalakshmi here is considered to be the second form of the Triguna Adishakti. It is representing the Rajoguna (the quality of action and creation).

Vitthal Rukmini Temple, Pandharpur :– Tulja Bhawani and Mahalakshmi are the Shakti Peethas on this tour. The Vitthal Rukmini Temple forms the devotional and cultural epicenter, transforming the journey into a comprehensive Maharashtra pilgrimage. It is the most important pilgrimage site for the Varkari sect, who worship Lord Vitthal (a form of Krishna/Vishnu).

Significance of Maharashtra Shaktipeeth Tour

Seeking Strength and Protection: Pilgrims visit Tulja Bhawani to receive the divine Mother’s blessing of strength, courage, and protection against evil, drawing inspiration from the legend of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Praying for Prosperity: The visit to Shri Mahalakshmi of Kolhapur is to the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity.

* Experiencing Pure Devotion: The journey culminates, in a sense, at Pandharpur, where devotees shed all pretensions and stand humbly before Vithoba, the God who waits patiently for his devotees, symbolizing the highest form of selfless and simple bhakti (devotion).

In combining the ferocity of Durga, the prosperity of Lakshmi, and the gentle grace of Vitthal-Rukmini, the Maharashtra Shaktipeeth Temple Tour offers a complete spiritual experience. So, it is touching upon the major deities that define the faith and cultural history of the region. You can do it along with Maharashtra Jyotirlinga tour also.
