Vashisht hot water springs & temple

Vashist Temple at Manali is dedicated to sage Vashisht, Lord Rama’s Kula guru in Vashisht village across the Beas River. In Manali, it is among the most popular places to visit. Rishi Vashisht was left depressed after finding out that Vishwamitra had killed his children, according to the legend. Rishi Vashisht attempted suicide by falling into a river but refused to kill him. He then started a new life here at the village. The river that carried the rishi to the village was called Vipasha, which means liberation from slavery. Now the Beas River is known as the Vipasha River. It is estimated that the Vashisht temple is more than 4000 years old.

The Vashisht Hot Water Spring is one of this region’s popular attractions. It is claimed that the hot springs are of medicinal interest. It’s said the springs cure a lot of skin diseases. A lot of people go to the Vashisht baths to take a dip to get rid of skin infections to diseases. All men and women do have different toilets. Adjacent to the Vashisht Temple is another ancient stone temple known as the Rama Temple. The idols of Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana were placed within the Rama temple. Dussehra is conducted for seven days. The village has long been a stronghold of Vaishnava cults.
