Trevors tank

Trevors Tank is basically an enormous manmade lake located at Mount Abu hill station in Rajasthan. It is one of the popular sightseeing spots on Mount Abu. This place is a crocodile breeding ground and was designed by then famous British engineer Col. G.H. Trevor in the year 1897 AD. This region was previously under the state of Rajputana, and Sirohi’s Maharao Kesari Singhji Bahadur gave this land to his friend Trevor, who transformed the area into a small sanctuary for wildlife. Trevor Tank was promoted by the Department of State Tourism as part of eco-tourism at Mount Abu. The tank is currently being used as a wildlife rehabilitation project by the authorities for crocodile breeding.

Also, Trevor’s Tank doubles up as a popular picnic spot and finds itself fairly busy on weekends. The spot is a photographers’ paradise, offering a spectacular panoramic view of lush green nature. Viewing stations are scattered across the area, where visitors can climb up to watch the wildlife in abundance. Birdwatchers visit the place to see pigeons, peacocks and perridges.
