Rao jodha desert rock park

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park

In 2006, Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park was built from a huge, rocky wasteland next to the Mehrangarh Fort. The park was designed to preserve this degraded terrain’s natural ecosystem and has become the city’s main tourist attraction today. The rocky ravines are heavily populated with the Thar Desert’s indigenous flora, this ecopark includes over 200 species of plants. The region was founded in 2006 as Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park but it was only in 2011 that the public was able to visit and explore the area. This is one of the few places where Rajasthan’s real landscape and vegetation can be seen in its natural setting.

The attraction has been one of Nature lovers and Geologists’ favorite locations. Visitors can see the rock formations, the crystal formations, the natural canals, a broad range of other types of rocks, plants and animals that are unique to this area. Partially, the Park was also built for the architectural conservation of the region’s historical monuments. The ecological restoration included eliminating the vast growth of an alien plant named Baavlia and restoring the vegetation of the local, rock-loving desert. The park is divided into parts that the tourists can explore to learn more about the Jodhpur Desert Rock Park.
