Pandoh dam

Pandoh Dam is a dam on the Beas River, in the Himachal Pradesh district of Mandi. The dam was completed in 1977, and hydroelectric power production is the primary aim of the project. Pandoh Lake is dam reservoir. The dam water is used at the Dehar Power House for power generation, before discharging into the Sutlej River. The powerhouse has a 990 megawatt installed capacity. The dam is set in the middle of the picturesque hills, dotted with thick forests, and the site provides a great opportunity to catch some spectacular scenes. For safety reasons swimming and boating are not permitted here. The place is among the region’s best camping and picnic spots.
