Founded by Maharana Karan Singh and situated atop the hilltop of Machhala Magar, the Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple was quite a remote shrine to be accessed by the general public. It was not historically a much-visited temple, for this reason. But the ropeway line connecting the plain and the temple at the peak of the hill was started in 2008 to make it easier for the public to enter the holy shrine and seek Goddess Karni’s blessings. There is now also a staircase leading up to the temple, which can be reached from Maniklal Verma Park, but that route takes more than 15 minutes and is a method very taxing and tiring.
