Jal mahal

Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal is one of the most beautiful architectural palaces on the outskirts of Jaipur, in the middle of Man Singh Lake. This masterful creation had previously been a shooting lodge for the Maharajas, but it has now become the most popular sightseeing spot in Jaipur. Jal Mahal was built in the 1750s by Maharaja Madho Singh to rest after their duck hunting efforts for himself and his companions. Jal Mahal is a four-storeyed, red sandstone structure. It provides a spectacular view of the Nahargarh hills, and the surrounding Man Sagar Lake. The most appealing feature of this mahal is that four floors of this site are submerged, and just one floor above the water level.

Among the visitors Jal Mahal is extremely famous for its striking architecture and detailed craftsmanship. This palace was built by merging architectural style of Rajput and Mughal. Because of its seductive charm and rich architectural magnificence, it was also considered one of India’s most photographed locations. The entrance is prohibited inside the fort but from a considerable distance you can get a glimpse of this magnificent fort.
