geyzing

The West Sikkim District capital city, Geyzing, also known as Gyalshing, is located at an altitude of 6,500 feet above sea level with lofty and majestic Himalayan range mountains surrounding the town. In the western part of the city, the Rangeet River surges. Holding aside the scenic beauty of nature that can be seen in Geyzing; the many monasteries situated here make it a tourist destination of great importance.
Geyzing has become a tourist hotspot and it is also this region’s main trading and commercial area. Yangtey, a hilltop a few kilometers from here, is situated on top of a cliff, offering a beautiful view of the scenery. Right down is the Rangeet River, and you can see the wonderful Kanchenjunga Mountains upstream.
