Dhankar lake

It’s difficult to find a refuge in the humdrum of city life, which can completely rejuvenate one’s soul. One of the best ways to enlighten the mind and soul is a visit to Dashair and Dhankar Lake. The town, with its towering snow peaks, lush green valleys, enchanting mountain lakes, stunning temples and monasteries steeped in time, is blessed with some of the most spectacular and winning landscapes anywhere. Dashair and Dhankar Lake are situated near the Rohtang Pass, at an elevation of 4270 m above sea level. The lake is also known as Sarkund. Dashair and Dhankar Lake are considered to be made half man and normal to rest.

The Dhankar Monastery, one of the five major Buddhist centers and a major tourist attraction in the Spiti region, is located a short distance from the lake. A trek from the monastery will get to Dashair and Dhankar Lake. Dashair and Lake Dhankar draw visitors from all over India and abroad. A ride to Dashair and Dhankar Lake is a treat to the eyes and mind.
