Deokaali

This temple of Deokaali is connected to many of the Ramayana tales and is situated near Naya Ghat. According to mythology, after her marriage to Lord Rama, Mother Sita arrived in Ayodhya with the idol of the Goddess Girija Devi. A beautiful temple built for the idol was given to King Dashrath and Mother Sita used to worship the Devi in the temple. There is now an impressive statue of Goddess Devkali, a local deity.
