
The Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms (DHH) was founded in 1957 with the purpose of boosting the manufacture and sale of various handicrafts, carpets, furniture, etc. It’s situated at the zero point and about 1 km away from MG Marg. The main building in front houses training centers for different craft products. It also has a museum, which was opened in 2007 to showcase many of the artworks and objects created by local artists and craftsmen in the centre. The exclusive novelty of the place is the hand-made paper made from the bark of the Argali tree. This paper is frequently used in greeting cards and letter pads, etc.The museum have several antique and rare collections which were created by legendary craftsmen and artists.
