The Annapurna Circuit is classic trek in the Annapurna region. The trek encircles the famed Annapurna massif that passes through subtropical plains in the Himalayan foothills, trans-Himalayan Manang, and then Mustang ‘s warm, rainy shadow. At Thorang La (pass at 5,416m) the highest elevation is reached before the path parallels the Kali Gandaki River, which flows between two giant peaks across the deepest gorge on Earth. All trekkers are expected to bring an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) entry permit which can be obtained in Kathmandu.
