Amar sagar lake

Located on the western outskirts of the Jaisalmer city at a distance of about 7 km, the Amar Sagar Lake cum oasis consists of a series of ponds and wells, as well as an old Shiva Temple. Lying next to and part of the Amar Singh Palace, this lake and temples were designed by Amar Singh while Maharawal Akhai Singh created the palace in honor of his predecessor Amar Singh. With the help of the stairs built near the palace to this very purpose, one can easily venture into the lake. One can also see a variety of birds around that area , making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
