Albert hall museum

Albert Hall Museum

Set in Jaipur’s Ram Niwas Park, the Albert Hall Museum is Rajasthan’s oldest museum. Established in 1876, it was originally conceived of as a concert hall and resembles the Victoria and Albert Hall Museum architecture in London, hence the name. It is a standing example of the Indo-Saracen architecture, and is also known as the Central Museum of Government. The Albert Hall Museum has a wide collection of objects brought from various parts of the world, spread into 16 art galleries! When the night falls, the museum takes on a whole new façade and the whole building glows with yellow lights, which looks absolutely stunning.

Albert Hall’s foundation was laid on 6 February 1876, when Albert Edward visited India, surrounded by lush green gardens. The museum’s galleries have a collection of past antiques and artefacts that will blow your mind away. Ancient coins, marble paintings, pottery, carpets and particularly the Egyptian mummy are a delight to historical buffs’ eyes. From the outside the building itself has an alluring architecture. It’s mesmerizing the Indo-Saracenic influenced domes and intricately carved arches constructed from sandstone. With the spectacular view of Albert Hall in the background, you can relax in the gardens. It is certainly a wonderful place to take a look at history and the ancient culture.
