Katrain

Katrain is a village in Naggar Tehsil in Himachal Pradesh district of Kullu which is located 7 km from Naggar and 20 km from Manali. Also recognized as the widest point in the Kullu Valley, is Katrain. The view from Katrain over the Beas River is excellent. The majestic Baragarh mountain at 3,325 m overlooks the Katrain Valley. It serves as a base camp to visit other nearby places such as Kasol, Larji, Arjuna Cave and the Temple of Basheshwar Mahadev. The village of Katrain provides some of the best spots for trout fishing. The surrounding water is crystal clear. Fishing lovers in this region will consider the Brown and Rainbow Trout alike. This place has also great lodging facilities built by the Himachal Tourism Department.
